Hotel description

The boutique Hotel Golden Angel is located in a historic building that has been rebuilt and renovated many times since its inception. The most significant reconstruction took place in the 18th century by joining the original buildings into a single unit and opening a coaching-inn “At the new tavern” where also Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart stayed during his first visit to Prague.

In the 19th century, the original coaching-inn was rebuilt into a classicist hotel called “At the Golden Angel” where the distinguished personalities of the European society such as the Queen of Denmark, the Queen of Greece, the King of Saxony and Hanover, the Russian anarchist Bakunin and the Spanish dancer Pepita de Oliva were accommodated. It was the symbol of the golden angel at the front gate that gave the house its name.

Another major reconstruction was finished in 2007 as the building acquired its current form and became a luxury hotel with 62 rooms, tastefully unifying the architecture of the 14th to the 21st century.

Nowadays, Hotel Golden Angel offers 36 rooms on the first and second floor of the building.

Location description

The 3-star Hotel Golden Angel is located in the historical center of Prague in Celetna street, right next to the Powder Tower and the Municipal House. The most important tourist sights such as the Old Town Square, the Wenceslas Square, the Charles Bridge or the Jewish Quarter are within 15 minutes walk and the Prague Castle is about 40 minutes walking distance or 20 minutes by public transport.

Rooms description

The hotel has a total of 14 Superior Rooms ranging in size from 22m2 and being suitable for up to 2 people. Further, the hotel offers a total of 22 Suites (Junior Suites, Family Suites and Executive Suites) with size of 31-110m2. Our Suites are suitable for 2-4 people.

Due to historical character of the building, each room is different and specific which underlines the originality. The rooms’ distinction is reflected not only in different categories, but also in their size, layouts and colors used.

Services description

Valet parking, concierge services, and laundry facilities are available at this smoke-free hotel. WiFi in public areas and hotel rooms is free of charge. Additionally, tour/ticket assistance is provided by our multilingual staff. There are refrigerators, TVs, AC, laptop-compatible safes, complimentary bottled waters, coffee and tea, electric kettles, toiletries, linens, towels, hairdryers etc. in all hotel rooms. Housekeeping is provided daily free of charge. Umbrellas, power adapters or steam irons can be borrowed free of charge at the hotel reception. Our guests can also use an ATM in the hotel lobby or our front-desk safe. Buffet breakfast is served daily from 7AM-10AM.
