Hotel description

Hermitage Hotel Prague is a four-star hotel with a unique atmosphere – it has come into existence through an original alternation of an Art Nouveau printing house built in the early 20th century in a charming place below Vyšehrad Castle, at the right bank of the Vltava River.

We intended to preserve the spirit of the impressive historic building while creating a comfortable place for you with top-level modern service. That is why we have carefully renovated the exteriors and sensitively adapted the interiors of the building so as not to disturb the original architecture. This way, you can fully enjoy the comforts of the hotel while relishing the airy and elegant Art Nouveau building in its entire splendor.

The former Union printing house was completed in 1907, as evidenced by the dates on the gables. In its building process, unprecedented and completely new reinforced concrete structures were used, the exterior facades in Art Nouveau style were adorned with distinctive floral motifs and symbols associated with printing. Mainly quality image prints and art publications were printed here and after 1918, so were the first Czechoslovak stamps. The printing house operation was definitely closed down in 2000.
